Personal Statement
Haley Streff is a certified pediatric and laboratory genetic counselor at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. She is the lead genetic counselor for the Texas Children’s Hospital Genomic Laboratory Stewardship Program, which aims to improve access, utility and safety of clinical genetic testing for all patients. Haley also sees patients in the genetics outpatient clinic at Texas Children's Hospital providing clinical evaluations, genetic test coordination and results disclosure and interpretation.
Haley’s research interest focuses on patient access to clinical genomic services and payer coverage and policy for genetic tests. She enjoys outreach work with organizations dedicated to rare diseases and/or increasing genomic education in the public and medical community.
