Texas Children's Names New Chief of Pediatric Radiology

HOUSTON - (May 05, 2010) - Texas Children'sHospital is pleased to announce that Dr. George Bisset has joined theorganization as its new chief of pediatric radiology, effective April 1.


Dr. Bisset comes to Texas Children's from DukeUniversity Medical Center, where he served as a practicing physician andadministrator since 1994. His leadership roles at Duke, at various points,included chief of pediatric radiology, vice chairman of radiology and,beginning in 2009, interim chairman of radiology.

 

A native of Miami,Fla., Dr. Bisset earned his medical degree from the University of SouthFlorida. He completed residencies and fellowships in pediatric cardiology andpediatric radiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.


Widely recognized as a leader in the field ofradiology, Dr. Bisset is currently chairman of board of the 40,000-memberRadiological Society of North America. He has authored or co-authored nearly200 scientific papers and abstracts, and serves as a reviewer for multiplescientific journals.
