Opening remarks from W.A. Meyers, Fort Bend county commissioner of Pct.3, will stress the importance of staying safe around water and how drowning can be prevented. In an effort to reduce youth drowning, a number of educational, interactive demonstrations are available for children of all ages and their families. The demonstrations include: free swim lessons/stroke school with certified swim instructors, proper lifejacket instructions, water rescue techniques, a CPR station, health fair, kayak rides, a meet and greet with the Skeeter's baseball mascot and Chick-Fil-A cow, and more.

The event will also feature representatives from the U.S. Army Corps, American Red Cross, Willowfork Fire Rescue and many other national and local vendors who will illustrate various types of water safety equipment.
