Faculty Mark A. Wallace Endowment Award

Request for Proposals

The Mark A. Wallace Endowment was established by an anonymous donor to provide seed funds to support collaborative projects enhancing our understanding of the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders. The endowment supports collaborations between departments and disciplines. Multiple principal investigators are encouraged, but at least one PI must be a Duncan NRI faculty member. Collaborations with faculty affiliated to the departments of Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, and Neuroscience are especially welcome, although you are not limited to those departments.

We have $250K to award to the most meritorious project. The hope is that the one-year funding will help generate data for larger, externally-funded, competitive grants.

Please submit the following material as a single pdf file to Barbara Cochran at bcochran@bcm.edu by late July -

 1) Specific Aims and Project Description (one page)

2) Lay Summary of the Impact of the Proposed Project (one-half page)

3) Budget (one page with personnel salaries and fringe benefits, supplies, services, animal costs, equipment, other)

4) NIH biosketches for all participating investigators

The winning project will be announced the end of August.
