Fellowships & Residency Programs
Overview of the Administrative Fellowship at
Texas Children’s Hospital
The Administrative Fellowship is designed to develop future leaders
in healthcare. We believe that development occurs through a variety
of experiences including working closely with senior leaders,
involvement in strategic projects, partnering with an Executive
Mentor, attending leadership meetings, as well as participating in
world-class development workshops.
Working Closely with Senior Leaders
Within the first few weeks of your Fellowship, you will have the opportunity to meet with members of the Executive Council to gain a better understanding of their areas of responsibility as well as a sense of their experiences and leadership.
Involvement in Strategic Projects
As an Administrative Fellow you will be involved in a variety of strategic projects. Historically, participants have developed business plans for expansion projects, helped design strategic initiatives such as Enterprise Content Management, or served as team members on other key projects. As a result of former fellows’ successful projects, Texas Children’s has developed new lines of service, such as the Health Centers.
Partnering with an Executive Mentor
Each Administrative Fellow is paired with and Executive Mentor. You will have opportunities to shadow him or her as well as learn from their experiences. The Executive helps you better understand the organization, strategic priorities, and growth plans as well as ensure you have a well-rounded experience in the program.
Attending Leadership Meetings
Regular attendance at the Executive Council and Director’s Forum is encouraged. Here you gain valuable insight into the direction of the organization as well as top challenges facing healthcare and leadership. Additionally, fellows have a myriad of opportunities to participate in other senior leader meetings.
Participating in Development Workshops
Facilitative
Leadership,
Change Management, Influencing Others are just a few
of the types of development workshops you will have the opportunity
